The
1984 Middlebury graduate enters
his 17th season on the Panther
coaching staff. In '98 and '00,
Beatty was named the NCAA New
England regional women's coach of
the year after leading the
Panthers to NESCAC Championships.
While at Middlebury, Beatty was a
sprinter on the track team and
one of the leading running backs
on the football team.
After
a year as a graduate assistant
coach in football, women's
basketball, and track and field
at Middlebury, Beatty moved on to
Trinity College, where he served
in similar capacities. Beatty
returned to Middlebury in 1987 to
serve as an assistant coach for
the track program, as well as
men's basketball and football. In
1988 he became head coach of the
track and field teams. He gave up
his coaching duties for football
and basketball and began to
devote more time to expanding the
track and field program with the
addition of indoor track and
field after the 1989 season. On
campus, Beatty served as the Cook
Commons Faculty Head for seven
years, as well as being involved
with several College committees
and organizations.
Assisting
Beatty this season will be
distance coaches Nicole Wilkerson
and Patty Ross-Tran, throws coach
Luke Hotte, and jumping coach
Dave Kerin .
