We are pleased to announce that the Discrete Mathematics Days of the Northeast Conference will occur on Saturday, September 15 at Middlebury College, Vermont.
The meeting will be held at the Breadloaf Campus of Middlebury College. Home to the college's celebrated Writer's conference and situated in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, the campus provides an ideal spot for the Discrete Mathematics Days Conference - an idyllic surrounding for stimulating mathematical conversations. This year's meeting on September 15 will occur at the start of the fall foliage season in Vermont. The campus is close to the Long Trail, Vermont's north-south hiking trail. General Information:
Registration will begin at 9:00 am (first talk at 10:00 am) and continue through to 5:00pm. There will be 5 talks during the day. Talks will be held at the BREADLOAF CAMPUS (NOT THE MAIN CAMPUS - here is a campus map ). A complimentary lunch will be served. A complimentary dinner is also available courtesy of Middlebury College. Here is a page of the full schedule and abstracts.
As with the other Discrete Math Day conferences, there is no registration fee, and preregistering is strongly encouraged (especially if you want to be guaranteed meals). To preregister, send an email to John Schmitt (jschmitt@middlebury.edu). When pre-registering please include: name, affiliation, status (faculty or student), and, if staying on the campus, a lodging request (one night or two and number of occupants). For information on financial support, please see below and indicate in your e-mail if you will apply for support. Please help advertise with the Conference Poster.
Directions, Accommodations, and Restaurants:
Accommodation will be available at the historic Breadloaf Inn (the site of the conference) at the rate of $35 per person per night. Payment will be due at the start of the conference, and is payable in check (to "Middlebury College") or cash. You MUST register at least THREE DAYS in advance to secure a room (but the earlier the better). Accommodation is rustic, but pleasant! WARNING: THERE IS NO CELL PHONE SERVICE AT BREADLOAF. The telephone number at the front desk (which is not staffed 24hrs) is (802)443-2700, and in the inn lobby is (802)443-2752. Financial Support:
We will be able to offer some financial support to participants (who are US citizens or permanent residents). Priority will be given to students and postdocs. Students and postdocs traveling more than 50 miles (each way) may apply for a $50 travel stipend.Participants traveling more than 100 miles can apply for lodging reimbursement.

As you may know, this is part of a series of one-day conferences, titled "Discrete Mathematics Days in the Northeast" and styled after the earlier "CoNE" meetings. Information on previous meetings can be found here.
In the past, Discrete Math Days have been held at Skidmore College, U Mass Amherst, Dartmouth College, SUNY Albany, University of Rhode Island, WPI, SUNY Binghamton, and Bard College.
Discrete Mathematics Days are funded in part by the National Security Agency.
