• Noel Wanner, Head Coach

    Coach Wanner returns for his fifth year as head coach for the women's and men's rowing program at Middlebury. He learned to row as a sophomore walk-on at Wesleyan University. Graduating in 1990, he served as the novice men's coach, before going on to row for the US National Team for several years. He has won multiple national championships and raced internationally at the World Championships and the World Cup. In addition to coaching at Middlebury, he serves as a head coach and associate director of the Craftsbury Sculling Center in northern Vermont. Contact him at nwanner@middlebury.edu

    Doug “Doc” Perez holds a Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley and is a professor at Plattsburgh State University. Doc has coached crew for many years, including being the Head Coach at San Diego State, the Head Coach at U.C. Santa Barbara, and the coach of the U.S. Lightweight 4- at the World Championships. For the past 15 season, Doc has been coaching semi-pro football. Doc’s daughter Elizabeth is obtaining her Master’s Degree at American University in Washington, D.C. and his daughter Annie lives and works in Burlington.
