November 14, 2007 The Mt. Ayres had a special two-concert weekend this past week performing at both the AIDS in Botswana benefit concer and at the much publicized 2007 Quidditch World Cup. The Quidditch concert was particularly exciting in our departure from our normal repertoire in favor of two Harry Potter themed pieces: "Double Trouble" (from the movie) and "The Mysterious Ticking Noise". What fun! The Mt. Ayres are quickly moving on to our Holiday repertoire!

We're excited to be holding auditions on Saturday, February 17th at 1PM in the Chateau Grand Salon Coffrin Lounge. Sign up outside of McCullough Social Space. We're looking for all voice parts but especially altos and basses. Singers with a choral background are preferred but all encouraged to audition.

A first audition consists of a range check, pitch matching, and a solo of your choice. We encourage you to sing a solo which shows off your vocal abilities. It does not necessarily need to be a classical solo. We will call back selected auditionees for a second-round audition where we ask you to complete a blending exercise and learn two songs with the group. The purpose of learning our songs is to gauge how well you learn music and how well you sound as part of the group.

We look forward to seeing and hearing you! -Ayres
