aka Ezekial: Ezekeil and Martha continued to move west with the rest of the Tr avis family until they settled on the Bowie River. When Jasper County was open ed up for settlement in 1833, they moved there and lived near wehre Heidelberg, MS is presently located. Other of their kin who moved with them in Jasper Cou nty were the Rogers, Heidelbergs, and Cooleys who settled near them. The Staff ords moved in the county later. Ezekial Travis wasd issued a land grant from the Jasper County courthouse at Paulding; records from the courthouse were lo st in a fire. The Travises were very active in the founding and life of the Sh ady Grove Baptist Church hear Stafford Springs and are kin to most of the peopl e buried in its cemetery. He is buried in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemet ery in Jasper Co., Ms.
