Another way to learn - try the Internet!
Explore some of the many innovations taking place in online learning. From Massive Open Online Classes (MOOCS) in which 100,000 students participate, to "flipped" classrooms in which students attend online lectures at home and do homework in classes, the Web is changing how education is delivered. Here is a sample of some of the new learning resources available online.
Universal Class
Free non-credit continuing education courses in over 500 topics including, accounting, alternative medicine, career training, dog training, herbs, homeschooling strategies, basic law and criminology, computers, and technology. Courses are instructor led, and self-paced. Educational platform includes email, class forums, graded assignments, quizzes, and exams.

Khan Academy
"Over 3,200 videos on everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history and hundreds of skills to practice, we're on a mission to help you learn what you want, when you want, at your own pace."Videos cover specific topics and are between 5 and 10 minutes. In addition to the practice videos, there are practice exercises to test your proficiency and online tools to track your progress.
Udacity
Free online classes in computer science, mathematics, physics, and statistics taught by world-class professors. Similar to the Khan Academy, lessons are delivered as short video lectures. Courses include student forums, office hours with the instructor, and robot-graded assignments, exams, and certificates.
Coursera
A collaborative project of Stanford University, the University of Michigan, Yale University, Princeton, and the University of Pennsylvania, Coursera offers a range of courses in math, computer science, biology, the humanities, and social sciences.
edX
A joint venture of MIT and Harvard University (with support from the Gates Foundation), edX promises to offer free online college-level courses. Courses available beginning September 2012.
