Americorps SERVE Education Awards

Who says there is no material rewards for service work? Students enrolled through their VCC member college campus in the SERVE Education Award Program earn a payment credit for future college, or to pay back student loans.

Depending on the level of service, students earn an Education Award of:

  • $1,000 for 300 hours over one year
  • $1,250 for 450 hours over one year
  • $1,800 for 675 hours over one year
  • $2,362 for 900 hours over one OR two years

Each spring, member campuses apply for the next academic year awards which they then distribute to students.

2009-2010 Vermont capuses include:
Castleton State College
Community College of Vermont
Champlain College
Green Mountain College
Middlebury
Norwich
