Call for proposals - Deadline Extended

Who: This conference is designed for beginning through advanced practitioners, including community service and community service-learning staff, faculty members, campus administrators and other stakeholders.

What:

Topics include:

  • What intersections are there between civic engagement and social justice? How do they affect our work?
  • How do we help students to work - and learn - effectively in communities and across boundaries? How do our programs and campuses engage in just, reciprocal relationships?
  • What are the emerging issues, and exciting models in the field?
  • How do our programs welcome and engage individuals of all backgrounds and identities? What are the outcomes we're seeking - for our students, communities, and institutions - and how do we achieve them?
  • How can we apply our work at the conference to our campuses?

Post-Conference Institutes Include:

  • From Action to Impact: The Community College in Community
  • Student Understanding & Use of Power in Service-Learning Classrooms & Beyond
  • Moving a Campus from Volunteer Service to Engaged Citizenship

When: March 30th - Conference; March 31st - Post-Conference Institutes
