Areas of Interest
My professional activities are divided among three fields: ecology, conservation
biology, and environmental education. I have ongoing research projects in the
following areas:
- The winter ecology and conservation of bats
- Ecology and conservation of carabid beetles in Vermont
- Theoretical concepts related to the protection and restoration of biological
integrity
- Regional conservation issues in northeastern U.S. and southeastern Canada
- Incorporating education on critical thinking and scientific methodology
into environmental science curricula
