Tim's practical guide to Marco.org
This website was set up by Marco so that he and his friends could keep in touch after heading off to college. I know most of these people personally, and it's basically how my friends from home keep in touch as well. I've been a member for quite some time.
This is a public site, so anything posted by anyone can be read by anyone else that can find it. However, the only people likely to read it are my friends or friends of friends. Most likely.
The site has been redone, so the thing to click on from the front page is "forums." Our forum is at the bottom.
There's a new type of bullein board up as of early March. This means that people are still finding features and so forth.
You can post without registering, but I think then anyone can post under your name. Registration is very easy. There is a link that says "register" at the top of most pages under the "new topic" button. There is an agreement (vastly ignored by almost everyone on the board. Use common sense about what you post) and after hitting "agree" there is a couple things to fill out. You can use your name as a username, or your screen name, or a nickname or whatever. It helps if people can figure it out who you are. That's it. I've never recieved any emails from the marco or anything, except one that said I was registered, and knowing Marco, he may try to disable that feature. and he's not the type that would sell your address or anything.
You can click on any topics that interest you (I tend to read everything,
except sometimes I skip long technical computer discussions) and read through.
Then you can click reply and type in your thoughts. It's basically self-explanitory.
I don't think the subject matters. Some basic commands like boldface and underline
are available. You can also do links and insert images.
You're welcome to visit the other forums, if you wish. The other members are already invading ours ;-)
