Vital Records from the New Hampshire Gazette, 1756-1800

These records were compiled by Otis G. Hammond, former director of the New Hampshire Historical Society. They were abstracted by Priscilla Hammond in 1937.

1773 DIED, in Putney, Vt., Dec. 5, 1772, a daughter of Michael Law, aged 14, a con aged 10, and a son aged 5, accident. His oldest son, aged 16, died a few days afterward.

1782 DIED, in Newfane, Vt., Feb. 1, 1782, Henry Sawtelle, his wife, and 5 children, accident, lately from Templeton, Mass.

1785 DIED, in Windsor, Vt., Esther, daughter of Willard Dean, aged 3

1789 DIED, in Richmond, Vt., March 30, 1789, Jedediah Buffum, suicide, leaving a widow and child.

1792 DIED, in Montpelier, Vt., Dec. 3, 1791, Theophilus Wilson Brooks, aged 25, son of Deacon Brooks of Ashford, Conn., and a daughter of Capt. Hobart of Berlin, Vt., aged about 20, drowned.

1795 DIED, in Middlebury, Vt., Feb. 5, 1795, twin daughters of Elihu Sheldon, aged 3 the day of death.

1796 MARRIED, Windsor, Vt., Josiah Dunham of Hanover, N. H., and Sukey Hedge.

1796 DIED, in Littleton, Vt., Mrs. Martha Hall, aged 96; in West Haven, Vt., at Cold Springs, Thomas Rowley, aged 76.

1797 DIED, in Rutland, Vt., Moses Maynard, aged 68.

1799 DIED, in Windsor, Vt., Hannah, wife of John Loverett, sister of Benjamin Leverett of Portsmouth, N. H.
