Summary:
Chinese efforts to strengthen its blue-water navy continues, with the purchase of two additional Sovremenny class destroyers after the initial two were delivered. A massive attempt to modernize its airforce can also be seen, with orders of Su-27 fighter/ground attack aircraft (with at least 150 built in China under license) spearheading the effort. Of note also is Singapore's massive efforts to replace its major surface combatants with LaFayette class frigates ordered from France, significantly increasing its maritime capabilities. Taiwan also struck a deal with the United States to purchase an Anchorage class amphibious assault ship, perhaps with a mind towards amphibious landings in the future.
