Invitations to students:

Join us for lunch on Fridays in Ross Commons - Seminar Room

Send me an e-mail if you'd like to help organize a go club on campus (or just want to learn how to play)!

I'll be giving a math seminar on "cool" math problems in our department's Tuesday afternoon seminar series on October 19th. Here's a problem for you to ponder in the meantime: You make two marks on a long stick and then break the stick randomly into k pieces. What's the chance that the two marks lie on the same piece?
