Gluing the Back

Each component of the instrument needs to be dimensioned accurately. Here, each half of the back is being thickness sanded.
Wood glue is applied to the edge of the back.
The two halves of the back are glued together.
A slightly curved strip of spruce is placed over the joint to apply consistent pressure down on the joint to prevent any buckling during the gluing process.
