Living Stones -- a forum for midd Catholic students
...And coming to Him, as to a living stone which has been rejected by men but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
--1Peter 2:4-5
what: first LIVING STONES -- dinner and discussion
when: Saturday, March 3 5:00 pm *note the time change*
where: St. Mary's Rectory (the white house in between Sunderland and St Mary's Church)
What is Living Stones?
More spiritual than a simply social event, yet less theology-based than a Bible study, Living Stones provides a place for students to discuss with their peers Catholic topics that relate to college students. Each gathering will have a focus as a general guide to the conversation. A group of students cook a meal which is served as part of the evening.
Details on the Living Stones 03/03/07:
This Saturday's question is "What kind of Church are you coming from, and what do you think it should be?" By "Church" we mean Catholic community, whether that's your family, parish, diocese, etc. Does it need to be "rebuilt"? Is it something that you want to recreate here at Midd? What are you looking for in the Church? We're all coming from different backgrounds -- varying levels of faith formation, public/Catholic/private schools, a range of affections (or disaffections) for what we've experienced in the Church. We may have very different reasons for attending -- trying to reconcile difficulties with the Church, looking for more spiritual life, or being just curious about where others are coming from.
Dinner: home-cooked chicken parm, eggplant parm, pasta, garlic bread, and salad will be served at 5:00 pm.
