Dr. Olin Winn Moss, prominent Lake Charles physician and son of one of the city's pioneer physicians, died at 9 a.m. today in St. Patrick Hospital. The 60-year-old eye, ear, nose and throat specialist had been in ill health for several years. The doctor was born March 23, 1892, in San Antonio, Texas, where his father, the late Dr. A.H. Moss, and his family were making their home temporarily. He was reared in Lake Charles and educated in local public schools. Dr. Moss attended Vanderbilt university in Nashville, Tenn., and received his medical degree drom Tulane unversity at New Orleans in 1920. He first entered general medical practice at Lake Charles with the late Dr. T.H. Watkins, then returned to Tulane for specialization studies. When Dr. Moss returned to Lake Charles he went into practice with Dr. D.C. Iles. He later practiced alone, then became associated with Dr. J.E. Sorrells. During his college career at Tulane, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, social fraternity; Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical honorary fraternity; and the Stars and Bars, another medical honorary group.
