1772, EDWARD ENTERED BRITISH WEST FLORIDA WITH MCCOLLUGH SPELL. 1776, EDWARD GRANTED 500 ACRES ON THE NORTH SHORE OF LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN OCT 16 1779, SIGNED OATH OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE "UNITED INDEPENDENT STATES OF NORTH AMERICA.( SEE ARTICLE) Edward was noted in the "South Carolina Gazette"at Charleston, South Carolina August 18,1758 and November, 1758 as "master of the Brig "Pretty Peggy". (South Carolina Gazette #1252 dated 10/6-13/1758). 1762-he is noted in Halifax County, NC Will of Wm. Everitt, no.54,pg 74, Feb 1762 & daughter Peggy (Margaret) Burnett,Witness. 1772-he probably entered British West Florida with McCollough, Spell (probably John not Benager), and Smith. 1776-he was granted 500 acres on 12/10/1776.A second grant on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain (about Madisonville, LA)-BritishAbstracts of Land Petitions, Col. office series 55:5574 - 6 36 Lib of Congress.150 acres granted for man and wife + 50 acres per child. He had 7 children in1776, St Tammany Parish (British)12/10/1776 50 acres-2 milesEast of Tchefuncte River-2 m i l es north of Lake Pontchartrain. 1784-he sold his land ref. a lawsuit on cowhides to Victor Richard. Ed Forman, Jr stayed on to tend cattle. 1790-he was in Plaqumine Brulee in Spanish LA-now Acadia Parish. Ismael was with him. 1810-Edward was not in the 1810 St Landry Parish Census. | ||||||
