Revolutionary Veteran. Private, NC Line in Newbery Dist., Pitt Co., NC, made sa rgeant in 1783. WARREN COUNTY, GEORGIA - Abstracts of Early Wills GRANBURY, Moses Jan 27 1808 Wife: Betsy Daus: Polly; Patsy; Betsy; Nancy; Dulany Radcl iff Sons: George; Seth Step-son: James Powell Exrs: George and Seth Granbury Wit: George Dykes; John Smith; Benjamin Upton He owned land in Pitt Co., N C, but sold it and moved on to Warren Co., GA. There he bought land and received a grant from the State of Goergia for more land in 1797 in Columbia County that bordered his land in Warren County. He also is recorded as having received several more land grants and owned considerable property in Warren and Columbia Counties. Part of these grants were probably for payment of services during the Revolution, as that was the method the government had for rewarding soldiers for service. |
