MCMP Organizational Meeting Minutes
September 17, 2002
Minutes submitted by Mary McDonald, Secretary
  • THE ORGANIZATION:
    • Elections held for the following positions (Officers 2002-2003):
      • Administrator: Teri Chadbourne
      • Secretary: Mary McDonald
      • Co-Treasurers: Tyler Williams and Vinson Cunningham
    • A membership interest list was created by those in attendance (35 members), detailing each member's potential participation interests in this year's activities (spring musical v. fall cabaret; tech, acting, pit orchestra, etc.). Teri will attempt to gather the same info from all non-attending members so that we can choose a spring musical based on the amount of talent we have at our disposal.
  • THE SPRING MUSICAL:
    • The date for the spring musical was agreed upon to be the weekend of the 24-27th of April (the weekend after Easter), for which we have the McCullough social space reserved. We expect to hold auditions during the first week of spring term, when our director will have returned from abroad.
    • The Musical Selection Committee (to research tentative shows for the spring) was set up to include:
      • Laura Eckelman (Chair)
      • Jenny Bemis
      • Laura Barrett
      • Pauley Tedoff
      • Jason Siegel
      • Merissa Kraham
The committee will make recommendations to the production team ASAP so that we can choose a spring show that fits with our needs and resources.
    • The following members of the spring musical production team were approved:
      • "Stage" /"Acting" Director: Katie Curler
      • Producer: Teri Chadbourne
      • Asst. Producer: Kyle Whittinghill
      • Sound Director: Vinay Jawahar
    • We are still looking for people to fill the following roles on the production team, and will make a decision after volunteers have expressed interest:
      • Musical Director (Vocal)
      • Conductor (Pit Orchestra)
      • Choreographer
      • Tech Director
      • Lighting Design/Director
      • Set Designer
      • Costume Designer
      • Stage Manager
    • The Attendence Policy for the spring show was agreed up on to remain as is: being that all conflicts need be presented at the first cast meeting, all conflicts thereafter are "unexcused". It was agreed that cast members must remain on campus for Easter weekend for load-in, rehearsals, and other such preparations. They will also be expected to help with some technical work as necessary, such as set construction and painting, etc.
  • FALL CABARET:
    • The possibility of a fall cabaret was proposed, although there were no concrete volunteers to organize/produce. Mike Apicelli was interested in working with others to put the cabaret together. Laura Eckelman, Pauley Tedoff, and Tyler Cunningham also volunteered to help.
