MCMP Organizational Meeting Minutes

  • Meeting called to order by Teri Chadbourne (Administrator 2002-2003)

  • Discussed non-MCMP events for 2003-2004 school year:
    • Erin King is looking for a strong tenor capable of playing an elderly Jewish man for her 500 project.
    • The Music Department will be offering a musical production class and producing a musical (The Falsettos?) next J-Term.

  • Discussed MCMP plans for next year in preparation for budget request:
    • It was decided that the major musical should be produced in the Fall of 2003
    • Interest was shown in producing a Cabaret in the Spring of 2004. Jason Siegel volunteered to organize it.
    • The idea of a Musical Movie Marathon was well received. Shannon Gmyrek was interested in being on the movie selection committee.
    • Interest was shown in sponsoring (or co-sponsoring) a trip to NYC to see a musical (maybe in the Fall or J-Term). Merissa Kraham volunteered to look into cost.
    • Suggestion of small cast "underground" musical in the Spring of 2004 (Rocky Horror, etc). David Moan will investigate the cost of rights.

  • Elections were held for 2003-2004 Officers:
    • Erin King and Katie Curler were elected as co-administrators.
    • Tyler Williams was re-elected treasurer
    • Jason Siegel was elected secretary

  • Possible interest in the production team for the fall musical was as follows:
    • Producer: Jason Siegel
    • Director: Katie Curler, Jason Siegel
    • Vocal Director: Kevin Velez
    • Asst. Vocal Director: Shannon Gmyrek
    • Conductor: Kevin Velez
    • Tech: Katie Polebaum
    • Choreography: Jenny Bemis
