The following major airlines fly out of Burlington Airport: Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, United and US Airways.

Ground Travel:
The Greyhound Bus Lines in Burlington are at 345, Pine Street. Tickets can be booked at the station in person as well as at www.greyhound.com The Amtrak Train Station is located at 29 Railroad Ave, Essex Junction. Tickets can be booked at www.amtrak.com. Phone: (802) 879-7298

Getting around Vermont and getting to Burlington:
It can be a little difficult for international students since many do not have an American license or a car of their own. Public transportation is available at select times. Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) run shuttles during the week and on Saturday to Burlington as well as other towns around Middlebury. Refer to www.actr-vt.org/bus_schedules/index.php for the latest updated bus schedules from Middlebury.
Middlebury Transit (www.middleburytransit.com, (802)-388-3838) and Jessica’s Vital Transit (www.jvt.us, (802)-349-8833) are two private companies that offer taxi service from Middlebury to Burlington. Students take advantage of these companies especially during breaks and at the beginning and end of semesters when they are traveling. Rides can be cheap depending on the number of people who share your cab.

Shopping:
The town of Middlebury is well equipped to deal with the needs of Middlebury College students as they set up their new life. Ben Franklin’s on Main Street carries the essentials whereas Shaw’s Supermarket a little further is a larger departmental grocery store. There are also a number of local businesses and restaurants within walking distance that serve multiple purposes. Many students visit Burlington during their first few weeks and purchase their winter clothing and other such items from the larger malls on Church Street.

Bank:
The National Bank of Middlebury in town (www.nationalbankmiddlebury.com) offers checking accounts for Middlebury College Students. They usually come to campus during Orientation week to help students setup their accounts. They have two ATM machines on campus for withdrawing money—in the Main Library and in McCullough Student Center.
