Proceedings

The Proceedings of all GA-2006 Joint Discussions will be published in the IAU series Highlights of Astronomy , Volume 14 (Cambridge University Press). The Highlights of Astronomy will be made available electronically and in book form, and can be ordered online (see also the GA Homepage).

The contract with CUP stipulates that Highlights of Astronomy will be published six months after GA-2006. CUP needs three months for the production process, leaving the three months immediately after GA-2006 for the Editors to complete their task. This implies that Joint Discussion Editors have to request from all speakers/authors in their JD to submit their completed manuscripts (both in printed and electronic form) to the Editors at the time of GA-2006. Instructions for the authors of the papers to be presented in JD09 are provided for in this ftp site.

Because in Highlights of Astronomy Volume 14 for Joint Discussion JD09 only 30 pages (including preface) are allocated, we will be limited to publishing brief summaries only. We ask that authors of invited review and summary papers limit their contributions to 2 pages each, and authors of oral contributions to 1 page. Posters will be mentioned as a list of their titles.

Since these summaries are so brief, their preparation should not be too time-consuming. Wherever possible, we ask authors to send their contributions as an email attachment to both the editors (below) in advance of the meeting.
