Shabbat

Shabbat is a special time of the week at Middlebury when students can relax from their hectic schedules, meet with friends, and discover their spirituality.

Hillel meets every Friday night at 5:30 for evening services. At 6:30, enjoy a home-cooked, kosher meal made by aspiring student chefs.

Rabbi Schiffer and passionate student leaders are excellent at tailoring the service to a variety of Jewish traditions. This weekly service always serves as a relaxing, spiritual, and social conclusion to a tough week and is the backbone of Hillel's many years of continued success.

Want to cook Shabbat dinner sometime?  Come learn how to use the Jewish Center kitchen! Cooking is a great way to end the week – plus, you get to decide what’s for dinner.  Email Jaime with your availability for the semester.
