Our Mission: Supporting Jewish Life at Middlebury

Hillel is a student-run organization which strives to actively support Middlebury's vibrant Jewish community. Creative Jewish programming, student enthusiasm, and a willingness to accommodate students from all denominations are the hallmarks which have made Middlebury’s Hillel one of the most active among the liberal arts colleges.

At Middlebury, Hillel is the heart of Jewish life on campus.

The Jewish Center is the locale for a variety of rich and varied events. Lectures by both faculty and visiting speakers encourage dialogue about Jewish issues and the unresolved conflict in the Middle East. In addition, Hillel lunch meetings and a Hebrew table are weekly events, as are Shabbath evening services and a kosher, home-cooked meal every week from our very own kosher kitchen.

Finally, Hillel students know how to have a good time--social events bring students together and provide a much needed reprieve from course work. Please browse our site to learn more about what Hillel has to offer. The FAQ may be a good place to start, or check out what’s going on in the Calendar. Be sure to contact us if you have any questions or comments!
