LATIN VERBALFORM FINDER
The Latin VERB: Inflectional Endings
To search for a word do FIND on your browser, then enter "DOT+wordname" (Be sure to remember the DOT which activates the search.
This list of the 473 "endings" of the Latin verb in all the possible forms employed, is searchable with the FIND in your browser. To find an ending, you will have to mentally remove the root and "stem" part. Then open the search FIND, first enter a a DOT and then without a space the Ending you want to identify.. Thus for "amabantur" you know the stem is "ama-" so enter ".bantur" and the search will take you to this ending with a grammatical definition, an example in Latin and translation. (The use of the DOT is to limit search to the exact form you asked for, and not find a "first match" which would be "bant"). The same form may be found in two verbal uses,. so be sure to look for adjacent words on the list.
If you use a MAC computer, I suggest you download and use the Mac PARSER in the download section below this on previous page, since it is a more advanced program covering nouns and verbs, in which you can enter a whole word. It will find the ending automatically from the WHOLE word, whereas here you must ask for the ending, without the stem. But if using a PC, this will do a similar job of searching, but just for the verbs..
