Mission Statement

Adopted November 14, 2000

Mission

To promote understanding and acceptance of GLBTQ members

of the Middlebury College Community. (Students, faculty , staff.)

Goals

I

To serve as a social support group for GLBTQ employees at Middlebury College.

Means of achieving goal

    * Regularly scheduled brown bag lunches where people are encouraged to talk

about their experiences as GLBTQ employees. We talk about who we are

and how we fit into our world at Middlebury. By relating our personal

stories and inviting feed-back, we gather strength form one another.

    * Occasional social engagements off campus.

II

To serve as a support group for GLBTQ students generally

and the student group MOQA specifically.

Means of achieving goal

* Publish a list of individual GLBTQ employees who would welcome contacts

from students who want to talk about issues surrounding sexual orientation.

  1. * Organize social events where students, faculty, and staff can come together

      for mutually beneficial interaction.

    * Organize educational events (speakers, films, panels) on GLBTQ issues.

III

To serve as an unofficial resource for all Middlebury College

offices and organizations on GLBTQ issues.

Mean of achieving goal

* Publicize our existence.
