The Subcommittee met to discuss plans to review the "Pathways to a Green Campus" report and the task force report on the Environment. An outline was drawn up, but details were put on hold because of confusion about a directive to perform an environmental audit, and fear that it would overlap with a review and waste time.
Jen spoke with Ron Liebowitz and discovered that a committee is still meeting to review and implement the task force report. We are getting details on this and plan to work with them, so our efforts don't overlap.
Steve Rockefeller recommended that the Subcommittee conduct a review of the implementation of the "Pathways" report as a means to prepare for an environmental audit to be done by an outside professional next year. This review would provide the auditor with up to date information that would greatly facilitate an audit. He also recommended that an audit should not only check up on how we are doing, but also inform departments of how to monitor their own progress and continuously check up on themselves. It will also be important to get full backing and support from the Administration so that departments will be more likely to be cooperative.
