PARKING RECOMMENDATIONS:
I. Improve Tracking System

- Link vehicle registration with core numbers.

- Free annual registration for all faculty/staff/students.
II. Provide Adequate Parking
- A.
- Add spaces in C Lot (Freeman) along road towards entrance, and designate the entire east side for student use. (already parking there anyway)
- B.
- Provide a parking area to the NE of Porter Field Road. (est. 80 spaces)
- C.
- Designate an additional 40 spaces in Center for the Arts lot for student use.
- D.
- Create additional parking in E Lot (Wright) by relocating tennis courts to field house area. (Est. 150 additional spaces)

- Convert Old Storrs Ave. to Fac/Staff to replace some of loss of spaces on 125 and release pressure on Old Chapel Road. (24 spaces)
- E.
- Additional pressure will be released by removing students from fac/staff areas.
III. Enforcement
- A.
- Hire an additional officer whose main responsibility is parking regulation.
- B.
- Restructure fee schedule to increase charge for multiple tickets.
- C.
- Impound vehicles with over 15 tickets, release contingent on approval fron Dean of Students.
IV. Education / Communication
- A.
- Announce any changes in parking system before students leave this spring.

- Continue to put explanations of violations on tickets.
- C.
- Provide a detailed parking regulations brochure to each person upon registration.
OPTION ONE - Task Force Recommends
V. Wait to assign parking according to lots until we are sure of our numbers.
