The 2007-2008 Middlebury College Democrats
Fall Semester Officers and Organization
The Middlebury College Democrats are committed to promoting community interest in and discussion of democratic issues on the Middlebury Campus. As an official chapter of the College Democrats of America, and a Middlebury College Student Organization, we offer opportunities to discuss and get involved in politics at the local, state and national levels. Throughout the academic year our events and activities inspire students to reflect upon the democratic agenda and solutions for today's problems.
During the fall 2006 semester, the Middlebury College Democrats concentrated their efforts on the 2006 elections — at the local, state, and national levels. In Middlebury, the club sponsored discussions with Middlebury representatives in the Vermont Legislature as well as in the US House and Senate - Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch.
This semester the Dems' primary goal will be student political involvement. By working with numerous other groups on campus, the Dems hope to promote student activism, locally and nationally. This year the Middlebury Democrats' primary goal is to ensure that Middlebury Students are informed and excited about today's political scene. This will be achieved by bringing speakers to campus, by holding information sessions, and aiding in various campaigns.
All students are encouraged to attend Dems events, which are always free and open to the public. All meetings are also open to the community and held weekly at 8p.m. in Pearsons Lounge. To be notified of our schedule and opportunities to get involved, please join our e-mail list and check this website frequently for updates.
