Biodiesel is not a new idea at Middlebury; various student organizations have tried to increase awareness about biodiesel over the years. One of the most notable endeavors is certainly the Project Bio Bus. Gaining national attention, twelve students set out to educate about the health, economic, and environmental benefits of biodiesel in a bus that ran on the renewable fuel.

In another project, students working with Professor Amy Sidell submitted an EPA P3 Grant Proposal to establish a biodiesel production facility right here at Middlebury. Right now, work continues to investigate integrate biodiesel more successfully into Middlebury’s energy portfolio.
